Yes, that's a fact. Aaliyah was the original cast as Honey Daniels though the role was later recast to Jessica Alba due to Aaliyah's death.
Honey was released in 2003, two years after Aaliyah's death. The film critics rated the film a 4 out of 10 followed by comments like "An attractive Jessica Alba and energetic dance numbers provide some lift to this corny and formulaic movie"
Although the film was set to give an affirmative side of the hip-hop aesthetic without being overly preachy, the critics weren't happy with the outcome. Which got me thinking, if Aaliyah had played Honey Daniels, would things have been different? Would the critics have given the film different ratings?! We'll never know.
I found these old photoshoot of Aaliyah and her bff Kidada Jones (Tupac's fiance and also the eldest daughter of the legendary Quincy Jones) They looked absolute beautiful, I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do :)
